This is a quick study from a photograph I've had for about twenty years. It was nearing dusk on a rainy, overcast day and the light from the kitchen window caught my eye.

Lower Mercer Street
This painting began as a pencil sketch for a watercolor painting. When the detail got out of control, I decided to turn it into an ink drawing. That was okay for a while, but then I dediced it had to be a watercolor painting.
